Day 2: Bangalore - Hyderabad

This was the 2nd day of my ride, I left from Bangalore @8am. Shashi (My friend, I mentioned before) came to see me off. We had breakfast at Kamat and then rode together for some distance and then he went back and I carried on. One thing I want to say is, how much you would be able to make in a day that you get to know only when you are on road J if its leisure ride then it’s a different thing. So my today’s target was Nizamabad which is 700kms from Bangalore, let’s see how much I would be able to make today.
Road was just amazing (NH7 Only), 4-Lane Highway, open wide roads and very few vehicles on the road. I ripped continuously on 90 and in another 1:10mins I was in Bagepalli, which was my yesterday’s destination LL Bagepalli is the last village of Karnataka.
I took one short break after reaching Bagepalli, to sip water, to energize myself by eating something like snickers, Naturo or may be some dry fruits as it gives you instant energy (Avoid any sort of sweet like candy, toffee or any sort of energy drink as it makes your body more dehydrated, instead keep sipping plane water or mix electrolyte in the water which gives essential minerals to your body), to call my mom as she was the most worried person. I had to call my mom for 3-4 times every day till I was on this trip to keep her and everyone informed at home.
After resting for around 30mins I started again to my destination. I ripped 90 continuous keeping average of 65-68kmph. I love speed, I just love it J whenever I used to find empty roads I touched 110 also but needs to be very careful. You need to be 100% on the road with all of your heart, body, mind and soul. Simple fizzy of mind can lend you in a great mishap.
After 200 kms of riding it was 1:15 o’clock in the noon, I was dam hungry but couldn’t find any good place to have food. Kept riding for few more kms, on the right side of the road I could see a decent restaurant. I went there, parked my bike and went inside. There people were giving a very surprised look(BTW by now I got used to of that ;)).Who this girl is , from where is she coming, to where is she going, is she alone , someone must be there, she must be part of some rider group( Though I only knew the reality ;)). Soon 2 cars came, ladies and children were there in that car, they came out of the car and starting looking all over me and my bike with a surprised look and started asking me on which trip you are on, where you going and where you are coming from. I answered all their questions, we all talked for some time and finally time came for photo session JThey were astonished after listening about the mission I was on, specially girls. I had lunch and again back to the ROAD, My favorite place to be in for next 8days JJ

On the way to Hyde

I was supposed to meet Kaleem sir and few riders from xbhp in Hyderabad and also Kaleem sir arranged one interview of mine in Deccan chronicles. By 5pm I reached Hyderabad and met few riders everyone welcomed me and I was overwhelmed to see that J  we all as a group rode till the Deccan chronicle office which was another 20kms. I was feeling little irritated riding in traffic after 2 days of riding on NH7 where roads are just wide open and very less no. of people , you need not to do anything just put your bike in final gear and keep ripping but nevertheless needs to be 100% on the road.

I was interviewed by Deccan chronicles and it took almost 2 hrs. By the time I was done with the interview it became 7pm and then there was no point of moving forward. So thought of halting in Hyderabad itself. Stayed in a hotel which was nearer to highway so that I need not to waste my more time next morning to get onto the NH7………….

What better time than now...

It has to start somewhere, it has to start sometime. What better place than here ? what better time than now ? - Zach de la Rocha All my life I have stayed in India and never had an urge to go abroad. One reason is because India itself is so diverse and beautiful and there is so much to see and explore that not even one life is enough. Also, through all my biking trips and travels I have found endless peace and excitement that I never had to look anywhere else. For the first time I moved out from India to Amsterdam, The Dutch capital. A country lying below sea level and mostly has flat terrain. It has a long history of social tolerance and generally regarded as a liberal country having legalized abortion, prostitution and euthanasia. I remember some of my colleagues in Bosch who visited Europe and never stopped babbling their experiences. Nobody honks and people follow traffic rules and if you are a pedestrian or a cyclist you will actually be respected more on roads. No one wou

My first love in the Netherlands ....

From centuries old windmills, tulip fields, fishing villages, unique country side, enchanting canals and amazing nightlife, Netherlands is famous for countless things. I came to this country in 2016 and immediately fell in love. I live in Amsterdam and the the first shocker was the amount of bikes everywhere. I love bikes and had one back home. As much as it was a shock, it was fascinating and inspiring. My searc h for a a bike that suits me started on the very first day of my arrival. Though rough and tough, I found the dutch city bikes boring, ugly and heavy and not something for my taste. My husband tried all tricks to convince me but I was unshakable and wanted something differet. Finally I stumbled upon this pink sleek beauty and It was love at first sight. Next day it become our family member and I was so happy exploring the beautiful city like local on my lovely cute bike. Be it going for groceries, yoga classes on the other side of city or job interviews, my fixie was my co

Day 1 - Delhi to Churu

Though I was all set I was yet to share the plan with my father. Not surprisingly he wasn't pleased and this was not the first time. By now I have practiced the art of convincing my dad. A day before the journey I went through my most basic checklist: full fuel tank - checked, air pressure - checked. It was cold outside and I made sure to park the bike in shade to avoid early morning ignition issues. By now I could feel the butterflies in my stomach, that very same feeling I get a night before my bike trips; trying hard to sleep but countless thoughts and the anxiety encroaching my mind. Almost 7 in the morning I and my sister were ready to leave and as a rule of thumb I switched on the engine and left it running for couple of minutes. Though a rare sight, my husband woke up early to click some pics for us and see us off. The next moment I was on the road heading towards Churu (enroute Bahadurgarh, Sampla, Bhiwani and Jhunjhunu). Barely I had travelled few miles w
